FALL

CROSS-COUNTRY - open to all students in grades K-8.  Runners have an opportunity to enter about 5-6 events/season.  Practices are at the discretion of the coaching staff and information is sent to registered students in August.  The season runs from August through early October.

VOLLEYBALL
- girls in grades 5-8.  St. Michael usually has 5th grade and 6th grade JV teams and  7th and 8th grade Varsity teams.   Practices are at the discretion of the coaches and the season runs from August 1 with championship playoffs held in mid-October.

SPRING AND FALL

WINTER

BASKETBALL-open to all students in grades 1-High School.  The season is the longest sports season offered by CYO and runs from late to the third week in March with the exception of Diocesan and State tournaments.  St. Michael consistently has JV and Varsity Girls and Boys teams in the District 2 Playoffs.

Grades 1 & 2
have a Saturday morning clinic that consists of assorted skill stations coached by parents of the children in those grades. Grade 1, 8:00AM to 9:00AM, and Grade 2, 9:00AM to 10:00AM at the Hanlon Center during January and February.

Grades 3 & 4
from this age forward, the students are divided into girls and boys teams.  The girls play in the Bethlehem Boys Club League with games held at the Boys Club off Pembrook Rd. in Bethlehem on Saturdays.  The boys play in the Fountain Hill league with games on Saturdays and Sundays at different facilities in the area.

Grades 5 & 6 are the JV teams and tryouts are held to divide the teams into A (White) and B (Blue) leagues.  The A league is defined as "competitive" with the top 6 teams entering the playoffs at the end of the season, a District 2 Champion is chosen.  One team per parish/school is permitted.  The B league is defined as "instructional", no playoffs are allowed but a season end tournament may be played.  A parish/school may enter as many B teams as they wish.

Grades 7 & 8
make up the Varsity program and are subject to tryouts for the A and B leagues.  The league set up is the same as at the JV level.  The season must conclude by the third week of March, but Diocesan and State Tournaments will continue through March.

High School
CYO provides for high school boys and girls to continue with the sport of basketball by offering a competitive league that runs from January-March.

Coaches needed
for all ages and teams.  Returning coaches and anyone interested should contact Ed Mckarski.

CHEERING- grades 3-8.  A Biddy team (grades 3 &4) will be offered based on registration response.  A division for  JV and Varsity teams will be decided based on registration response.   The season is the same as for basketball, late  October through the third week on March with the exception of Diocesan and State Championships.

SPRING

BASEBALL-
open to boys in grades 6-8.  The season begins after the third week of March and concludes by the end of May.  Tryouts are usually held after one week of conditioning and skills practices.  Practices are at the discretion of the coach.

Coach- Mr. Ed McKarski

VOLLEYBALL-boys in grades 5-8.  This season is short and sweet.  It is run over four weeks in March and often conflicts with basketball.  But our coaches have a history of being flexible and understanding. The league is fun as well as instructional.  Practices are at the discretion of the coaches and at the mercy of the basketball season.
