All homework is listed on the board in the classroom.  Students are given time to write their assignments down during class.  General information of what we will be covering during the week will be listed here.

5th Grade Science

We are completing the Sound unit.  The test is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2008.  Last week the students were informed about what they should be studying for this unit test.  They will need to know how we make (create) sounds, how we hear sounds, and the parts of the ear.

7th Grade test date changes

English:  The date for the Unit 7 Preposition test has been changed to Tuesday, April 22, 2008.  I felt that we needed to review a few of the sections a little more and rescheduled the test.  The students were given this change today.

English:  We are completing Unit 7 Prepositions and Prepositional Phrases.  The test for this unit is scheduled for Friday, April 18, 2008.

5th Grade Science

We are nearing the end of the Motion Unit.  The test for this unit is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2008.  The students should be studying their vocabulary words, Newton's 3 Laws of Motion, and the formulas to find distance, time, and speed.  They should also review the Lesson check-up questions.  We will begin doing the notes on this unit by this Thursday (4/10) or Friday (4/11).

7th Grade

English:  During school, we are going to the Computer lab and the students are typing up their letters to President Roosevelt dealing with our internment camps during World War II.  They will also be writing a friendly letter, invitation, and thank you note.   We have also begun Unit 7--Prepostions.  The students know that the test on all 61 prepositions will be given during the week of April 7, 2008.  They must be able to list and spell all 61 prepositions correctly.

5th Grade Science

We are working on the Motion unit.  The students will need to know Newton's Three Laws of Motion and the 3 formulas to find distance, speed, and time for the test.  They should already be studying these items as well as the vocabulary words associated with the Motion unit.

IOWA testing Grades 5, 6, 7

A letter was sent home with your child this week about the IOWA tests being given next week, March 31--April 4, 2008.  These tests will be given during the morning hours.

5th Grade Science Test

Matter Unit test will be given on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, since there was one more day of information that was needed.  The students were told this information on Monday, March 17, 2008.

5th Grade Science

We are completing the unit on Matter.  All of the students colored in a copy of the Periodic Table and that should be in their Science notebooks.  The test for the Matter unit is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2008.  The students will need to have their copy of the Periodic Table with them in class on the day of the test to use during the test.
